Why Twitter is more powerfull than Facebook ?

I think this is an interesting question : Why twitter is more powerfull than facebook?
but first, gw mau ngajak lo semua untuk sedikit melihat sejarah twitter itu sendiri...asal muasal pertamanya twitter itu gimana ya? ada yang tau ? well..you can look for anything these days as long as you can use the internet. Ini yang gw dapet dari wikipedia..twitter itu konsepnya berasal dari sms..it's like text message with your phone..that's right..it's really a simple concept. buzzing your friend's pocket..and then..buzzing the whole world...

Tapi, karena sms hanya bisa lewat handphone..ide mereka adalah..kita bisa mengirim message dimanapun kita berada..hmm..like worldwideweb.message.com..and another important thing is only a small member of group that have been decide to receive it..so, you choose the person you want to share with.

Kalo liat di kamus, definiton of twitter is "a short burst of inconsequential information" and "chirps from birds."
You already know now why twitter put "small bird" in their logo right ?? that should answer your question.

Balik ke pertanyaan tadi...jadi kenapa gw bilang twitter itu more powefull than facebook ?
well...i'll breakdown to points in answering that :
1. Twitter itu terbatas 140 karakter..but itu justru bikin kita menulis lebih hati2 dan lebih efisien kan dalam menulis..tidak sembarang nulis lah intinya..
2. Karena terbatas, kita jadi lebih fokus dan terarah untuk membuat status..it becomes more of your thoughts or your way of thinking
3. live updates from twitter beat the hell out the media..sometimes..we know it first than them
4. adanya trending topics membuat kita bisa menyerukan pada dunia dan membuat mereka notice who we are
5. kita bisa "follow" (istilah twitter : mengenal lebih dekat) dengan siapapun yang kita mau..asalkan mereka juga punya tentunya..hehe (kecuali lo bisa sulap..)
6. i love this quote : You are What You tweet..kita jadi bisa tau jalan pikiran lo..dan itu bisa menjadi input buat kita juga.

Gw merasa ini saja sudah cukup untuk membedakan antara twitter dengan facebook...bahkan facebook sekarang mulai takut dengan booming twitter yang sangat cepat sekali..even they try to copy one of the twitter features..yes.. @mentions...the thing is...without mentions..facebook is already have it..twitter use @mentions karena biar tidak usah melihat capek2 timeline nya.. kalo facebook kan tinggal nulis aja di wall orang tersebut...rebes kan?? beres toh ?

That's it..i think i'm going to puke right now...babbling all these stuff..which i think it doesn't make any sense at all..right ??right ??
but..i'm sure...until now..twitter is still more powerfull...than "you know what"
